Making Jewelry Story
Hand engraving with a “Tagane” and a “Kozuchi”.
The wabori (Japanese Engraving Technique) is engraved using traditional Japanese metalworking tools called “Tagane” and “Kozuchi”. “Tagane” is a kind of cold chisel. Depending on how the tip of the chisel is made, engraving can be expressed in many different ways.
“Kozuchi” is a kind of small hammer that strikes the bottom of the “Tagane”. A series of precise strikes completes the delicate engraving.
Initials and dates can be engraved in the inside of the ring.
