Sterling Silver Smoky Quartz Pendant Bespoke
This is a simple pendant set with fairly large smoky quartz.
This stone was originally an “obidome”, but the customer wants to use it as a pendant, so we proposed a simple design.
“Obidome” is a metal fixture that firmly fixes the kimono obi so that it does not come loose, and is one of the traditional ornaments of kimono culture.
It is made by a technique called bezel setting that surrounds the stone with silver, and the surface is slightly rough and matte.
The soft, shiny silver goes very well with the pale smoky quartz.
Jewelry with large stones tends to be very heavy, so it needs to be designed with weight in mind.
However, it’s fragile and cheap if it’s designed too lightly, so it’s most important to always balance when designing and producing.
By showing the difference in texture, the jewelry has a delicate atmosphere even if the stone is large.
