Pt950 Diamond Ring Remodeling

The client wanted to transform a prong-set engagement ring into a more wearable design.
She was visiting from overseas and had found our shop through an online search.

This is how it looks from the front; the shape resembles the letter “D.”
Larger gemstones naturally have significant depth, so designs often end up with the stone protruding prominently from the ring.
In this instance, after consulting with the customer, we opted for a design where the stone sits comfortably between the fingers.
This minimizes the height, making it a ring that is easy and comfortable to wear, even with a relatively large stone.

The platinum band features a soft, feather-like texture.
The diamond is set by sandwiching it between platinum sections on either side, lending the entire ring an airy, light feel.

The ring band features a cross-section shaped somewhat like a lemon.
By rounding the inner surface as well, it offers a smooth, comfortable fit without any feeling of constriction.
Since this design requires more precious metal than a ring with a flat interior, it is a special feature unique to a custom-made, one-of-a-kind piece.
