Pt950 Star Sapphire Ring Bespoke

The client wanted to turn a star sapphire that was set in an old ring into a piece of jewelry that was easy to wear.
Star sapphires are gemstones characterized by their unique soft blue color and mysterious reflections that make them appear like stars.

As its name suggests, star sapphire needs a certain thickness in order for their distinctive light patterns to show through, so they are often cut into plump cabochons.
While making the most of the stone’s shape, it is also important to strike a balance so that the design of the jewelry is as easy to wear as possible.

The thickness of the ring has been kept as thin as possible, while the inner shell of the ring arm is slightly rounded to reduce the feeling of pressure.
The sides and back of the bezel have a soft, feathery texture that contrasts with the sapphire, which sparkles like beads of light.

We consulted with the customer to decide on the width and thickness of the arms, ensuring they were neither too thick nor too thin.
Because it is something that will be used for a long time in everyday life, it is important to make it with care and without cutting corners.
A ring that can be used for a long time can only be completed when everyone involved shares the desire to make it a great piece.
