So I would like to write about Japanese crafts.<\/p>\r\n<h2 class=\"null\">LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize<\/h2>\r\n<p>From the 26 June to 22 July, The exhibition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2019 are held in Tokyo. All the finalists\u2019 works are showcased at a free exhibition at Isamu Noguchi\u2019s indoor stone garden \u2018Heaven\u2019 inside the Sogetsu Kaikan building in Tokyo.\u00a0<!--more--><br \/>\r\nThis prize recognizes artists\u2019 thoughtful and fundamental contributions to the development of contemporary craft. This exhibition is multidisciplinary mosaic composed of ceramics and jewelry to textiles, furniture, metalwork and glassware.\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/craftprize.loewe.com\/en\/home\">http:\/\/craftprize.loewe.com\/en\/home<\/a><br \/>\r\nI believe this prize is a very meaningful prize for the importance of craft in today\u2019s culture.<\/p>\r\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZMTqyv-681g?feature=oembed&amp;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n<h1>Beginning of modern Japanese jewelry<\/h1>\r\n<p>The history of Japanese modern jewelry is quite different from the beginning of European jewelry.\u00a0<br \/>\r\nIn ages past, the samurai treasured their swords above their own lives.<\/p>\r\n<p>In those days, the craft of the metal smiths who decorated the swords was patronized by the Daimyo (Japanese feudal lords). The craftsmen attained a magnificent level of skill transcending that of the rest of the world.<br \/>\r\nWhen the samurai were banned from carrying swords, the craftsmen turned their job to making jewelry for a living. The term is applied in distinction to the fine arts which aims to produce objects which are beautiful or provide intellectual stimulation.<\/p>\r\n<p>It is interesting that both Japanese K\u014dgei and Applied Arts have similar thought. So it takes a lot of effort and time.<br \/>\r\nWe think we want to create this beautiful lines simply with different pearl and introduce to the world strongly.<br \/>\r\nAnd so, our initial consultations decided on Kazuko Nishibayashi, a Japanese contemporary jewelry artist based in Germany.
