The current emperor of Japan abstained on April 30th, today, and a new emperor will take over from tomorrow.
\r\nIt is the first time for an emperor to retire for 200 years.
\r\nThe changing of the emperor also changes the way Japan calls its era. In government offices, era names are used rather than the Christian year, such as 2019, etc.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

What do Japanese think of the Emperor?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

Under Japanese law, the Japanese Emperor only exists as a symbol and does not get involved in politics. Pre-Heisei era, the Emperor Showa entered World War II under the name of the Emperor. It was him that insisted on his theory of responsibility. However, the present Heisei Emperor was very popular.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Heisei era<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

People in Japan may be looking back on their own trajectories for the past 30 years of Heisei.
\r\nWhat I have personally felt is that connections between people were clearly weakened during the Heisei era.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

New era – Reiwa<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

We would like to create a place where people can connect with each other through jewelry in new era the Reiwa era.
\r\nWe sometimes hold events, called “Creators’ Session Night” at the storefront. At this event “those who use” and “those who create” of jewelry can interact with each other at the Setagaya store in Shinko Studio.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
